Coded Skeleton

Digital Nature Group (University of Tsukuba,Yoichi Ochiai Laboratory)

Supple muscles, sophisticated gears, feathers to wind off.
The structure containing the movement around us is beautiful.
In this project we print motions as part of the structure.
Conventionally, the 3D printer object was static.
What is exhibited here is a 3D printer object containing a structure that acts as an actuator.
The geometry of the structure is designed so that the object deformation as desired and it enables movement as simulated with Simple linear actuator .
We expressed the combination of static structure and dynamic motion as a substance.
