ELECTRONICOS FANTASTICOS! Electromagnetic Room

Ei Wada

Artist / Musician, Ei Wada is at the heart of  “ELECTRONICOS FANTASTICOS!”, a project to revive outdated electronic devices as electronic musical instruments and perform together with other members in a festival. Since launching in 2015, he has produced 『TV Gamelan』『Sempookin (literally, “electric fan harp”)』『Black Teleringer』, and other devices-turned-instruments. In 2017, he held a revival festival where performers played festival music on old domestic electronic devices and danced the Electromagnetic Bon Odori around a tower in memory of technology. He actively adapts the original functions of electronic devices, converts them into instruments, and spins fantasies as he dreams about native music and its festivals born from city waste. In this MAT, an “Electromagnetic Room” will be available for 2 days, where one can play the instruments and enjoy Ei Wada’s live performance.
