“Vessel” is a new collaborative piece by Japanese sculptor, Kohei Nawa and Belgian dancer/choreographer, Damien Jalet. It is an experimental piece which investigates the blurred lines between solid and fluid, Eros and Thanatos, among other such dualistic themes.

    Kohei Nawa

    Sculptor
    Born in Osaka,1975. Currently based in Kyoto. Director of a multidisciplinary creative platform “SANDWICH Inc.”. Professor of graduate school/Art and Design Studies at Kyoto Universeity of Art & Design. Working with the unique concept of PixCell as an axis, his works continues to unfold in diverse expressions.
  • DAMIEN JALET

    Choreographer / Dancer
    Born in 1976. Kicked off his dance career with "The Day of Heaven and Hell" in 1998. In addition to dance, his activities go far and wide, as he collaborates with individuals such as sculptor Antony Gormley, musicians,choreographers, directors, designers, while sometimes creating choreography for music videos or operas. He received the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2013.
